-Chapter 27-
Goodbye

At the Kingdom, there was a celebration in Miranda's honor and heroics. Erika & Kandy were the only ones there in the crowd.
"Where did Miranda go?" Erika asked.
"She said she had something to do," Kandy answered.
Just then, Emily went by Erika. She tugged Erika's vest, and asked, "Have you seen my Mommy?"
Erika looked down, and said, "You must be lost. What's your name?"
Emily replied, "I am Emily Maynard."
"No way!" Erika cried, "You're Miranda's daughter?"
Kandy looked down and said, "How cute."
Emily blushed, and then said, "Are you friends of Mommy?"
Erika then answered, "Yes, we are. Do you know where she is?"
Kandy nodded and added, "She was supposed to be here for the celebration."
Emily looked away and said, "I see. The King invited me since I know Mommy very well."
She then told them where Miranda went. Emily said that she is at a graveyard, where Sara was buried. She often goes there on a weekly basis, but this was important.
Erika & Kandy went with Emily to the Graveyard in order to find Miranda.

Miranda was by the gravestone of Sara Maynard. She was still hurt emotionally.
"Sara," she said, "I finally did it. Your death has been avenged. And now you can rest."
Miranda began to cringe, and then tear up, "Now if only I can see you again. Sara… I…"
She went down to the ground and began to cry. She cried for a minute or so. However, a light pat on her shoulder stopped her from crying. It was Emily.
"Mommy, don't cry. You'll see her again soon."
"Emily? What are you doing here?"
"Miss Erika & Miss Kandy sent me here. They were looking for you, but I wanted to see you again."
"Erika?"
Erika and Kandy were there by Emily.
"It's okay, Miranda. We're still here," Erika said.
"Miss Miranda, you don't need to cry for Sara anymore," Kandy added, "She's gone forever, but her memory still lives on in all of Argos."
"You guys…" Miranda said with tears in her eyes.
"Mommy, I know about you," Emily said to her, "You were a hero of our village, and I always believed in you."
Miranda then cried, "Who told you this?"
"Daddy told me," Emily answered, "Right before he died."
"WHAT???"
Miranda was shocked and said to Emily, "You little scamp!"
She hugged her and said, "Emily, I'm sorry I hid this from you. I didn't want you to be devastated by Sara's loss."
"Don't be ridiculous, Miranda," Erika said, "You should've known your daughter knows about Hanemore Maynard as well. She's a Maynard just like him, and Sara, and you."
"Maybe I should tell her about her grandfather one day," Miranda thought.
"Mommy, no matter what, I'll still love you," Emily said.
Miranda began to blush, and laughed. She then hugged Emily, and picked her up.
"Come on, Emily," she said, "Let's go home."
"But what about the celebration, Miss Miranda?" Kandy asked.
Miranda sighed, and said, "You guys go ahead. I need to be alone with Emily."
"Worry about your family later," Erika said, "We have to see the king and be rewarded!"
Miranda then gasped, "You mean I could see the king for my heroics? Oh, I'd love to... but..."
Emily said, "We should go there first, then we can go home."
"Miss Emily is right," Kandy replied, "Please?"
Miranda sulked and then sighed, "Aw, why not? I can always hang out with my special little girl no matter what."
Miranda and her friends left the graveyard, but Miranda stopped by the gate and whispered something to herself:
"Sara… Rest in Peace. Thank you for giving me a chance. Goodbye."

After the celebration, Miranda & Emily were sitting on top of the tree close to their house.
"Mommy, I never knew you and Aunt Sara used to go there a lot," Emily said.
Miranda said, "I know. I tried my best not to get upset over the memories."
Emily smiled and said, "You know, someday, I could be a hero in Argos like you. You, Aunt Sara, and Grandpa Hanemore are heroes. I thought I can continue on this Leg-Ace."
Miranda then asked, "That's Legacy, dear. Aren't you a little young to be a hero?"
Emily then replied, "Maybe. But as soon as I finish school, I'll become one like you."
Miranda smiled and said, "One day you will, Emily. And maybe someday you'll become a 3rd Generation Maynard. Only then, you can be a hero like your mother."
"Right, Mommy! I'll do my best! I hope I'll grow up to be a hero like you and save Argos in the process!" Emily said cheerfully.
"That's my girl!" She said.
They continued watching the night sky. As they watched on, a shadowy figure came from a distance.

"Miranda," he said, "I am proud of you. I know it has been too long since I last battled. But now, I turn over to you, as the new hero of Argos. I was devastated by the loss of your sister, and my daughter, Sara, but I still believed in you, just like Sara did."
The figure was, of course, Hanemore Maynard, who was still in the shadows.
He continued, "I am sorry I can no longer fight, but one day, our paths will cross. Maybe someday, I could face you one-on-one and see how strong you have become. But for now, I wish you the best of luck. Take care of my Granddaughter, and yourself, as well. Live on, my daughter… Live on."

Hanemore disappeared in the black night, knowing he will return someday. As Miranda & Emily watched on, Miranda suddenly was concerned.
"Mommy, what's wrong?" Emily asked.
Miranda said, "Oh, it's nothing."
She then thought, "Was that Father I saw?"
She was confused and concerned, but she let out a smile, and said quietly, "Father…"
Miranda then went down the tree with Emily, and went back inside. The village was quietly in peace, as Miranda Maynard became a hero to the Village. Maybe someday she'll meet her Father, but for one thing, she'll always be a hero.
To this day, Miranda Maynard became a hero. The torch between family members had been passed from Father to Eldest Daughter to Youngest Daughter. This was the start of a huge adventure for Miranda... one adventure she's going to have in years to come.
The final chapter. Miranda meets Sara in the graveyard. She has successfully completed her journey...

...but now, will she say goodbye to her sister?
